Netcat bridges the gap between desktop and Website
With Netcat, anyone with Word skills can publish to the website or intranet, no HTML knowledge required.
Simply by clicking the ncSweeper button on the toolbar, non technical people can automatically transform MS-Word documents into smart-looking, well-presented web pages, fully-compliant with the style guides.
Overcoming Word to Web problems In most organisations, much of the information required for the website or intranet has already been produced using MS-Word. However, as most web administrators know, Microsoft Word’s ‘save as webpage’ generates a lot of “dirty” code that causes problems such as: table collapse, disappearing links, haphazard line spacing and unaligned bullets. Accordingly, most firms simply start again and hand the job of publishing to the web team.
Turning MS-Word users into Web publishers Now, using Netcat’s Sweeper Technology, everyday users can instantly transform Word documents into webpages, without the nasty format collapses associated with other tools. The result - smart-looking, well-presented web pages, fully-compliant with the style guides.
All versions of MS-Word Netcat sweepers are tightly integrated with MS-Word and other popular formats including: MS-Word 1997, MS-Word 2000, MS-Word 2003, MS-Front-Page, rtf and txt.
How it works ncSweeper for HTML works in two ways: Manually - Publishers drag and drop a Word document into Netcat and simply press the Sweeper button on the toolbar. Netcat then automatically reformats the content into the prevailing webpage style as defined by the cascading style sheet (CSS). Automatically - Administrators simply configure ncSweeper to automatically run, whenever the save button is pressed, or when workflow is invoked.
